Skin health, read properly.
Some skin problems are not cosmetic. They itch, they scar, they come back. We work out what is actually happening, treat what we treat well, and tell you honestly when someone else is the better answer.
A consultation, not a counter
You sit down with a doctor. We look at your skin, ask what it has been doing and for how long, and what you have already tried. Then we tell you what we think it is and what we would do about it.
That is the whole first visit. Nothing is sold in the room. You leave with a plan and a price, and you decide in your own time.
The conditions we see most
These are the skin problems we handle well, and the ones our doctors treat every week.
Acne
Congestion and the kind that keeps coming back. We treat the acne first and the marks it leaves second, because doing it the other way round wastes your money.
Acne Scars and Marks
Rolling scars, boxcar scars, and the flat brown marks left behind. Different problems, different treatments. We tell you which you have.
Melasma and Pigmentation
Patchy darkening across the cheeks, forehead or upper lip. Any clinic promising a cure is selling something. We are honest about that from the first visit. How we treat melasma →
Sun Damage
Freckling, dullness, and the slow loss of evenness that comes from years of Manila sun.
Sensitive and Reactive Skin
Skin that stings, flushes, or reacts to products it used to tolerate. Often a damaged barrier rather than a disease, and often fixed by taking things away.
A General Skin Check
It has been there a while and you want a doctor to look at it properly. Come in and we will.
Eczema and Dermatitis
Skin that itches, cracks, and settles down only to come back. We work out what is driving it, treat the flare, and give you something that holds between flares. If it is widespread or it will not settle, we say so and refer you.
Hair Loss and Thinning
We find out which kind you have before treating anything. Androgenetic thinning, shedding after illness or stress, and the scarring types all look alike in the mirror and need different answers, and the scarring ones cost you follicles permanently while you wait. Where treatment is the right call it is done here with LaseMD Ultra. What we would do depends on what we find, and we will tell you what to expect from it and what not to.
Moles, warts and skin tags
Common, quick, and done by a doctor. Mole and skin tag removal start at P6,000, wart removal on the face and neck at P10,000, and the final figure is quoted at the consultation, once we have seen what we are dealing with, because size, number and site all change the answer. Our wart, mole and skin tag removal page goes through each one in detail. Every price is on our price list.
Moles
Dr. Erika Velasco looks at every mole herself before anything is done, and decides which ones are safe to remove here. Some moles are plainly harmless and have looked the same for years. Those come off here with the laser, usually in one visit. Anything that has changed, anything with an uneven edge or uneven colour, anything that bleeds or itches, we leave alone and send to a dermatologist. Laser removal destroys the tissue, so nothing is left to test afterwards. That is a fair trade on a mole we are sure about and a bad one on a mole we are not. We wrote out the whole decision, and what removal costs, in our guide to mole removal in BGC.
Warts
A routine procedure here. It normally takes more than one session, because warts are viral and the ones you cannot see yet come up later. We tell you that at the start, not after.
Skin Tags
Small, harmless, and usually dealt with in the same visit.
What we do not treat
We are an aesthetic and skin health clinic, not a general dermatology practice. Psoriasis, chronic hives, nail disease and rashes that are widespread or behaving oddly are better handled by a dermatologist, and so is anything needing surgery or hospital care. We would rather say so than take your consultation fee first. Ask us and we will point you somewhere sensible.
Five steps, no pressure
You talk
What the skin is doing, how long, what you have tried, what changed.
We look
Proper lighting, close examination, and photographs if it helps track progress.
We tell you what we think
In plain words. Including when we are not certain, and what would make us certain.
You get a plan and a price
Written down. What we would start with, what it costs, and how long before you would know it is working.
You decide
Not in the room. Go home, think about it, come back if it makes sense.
P1,500 for a proper look
A skin consultation with a physician is P1,500 at the clinic. Booking from abroad, you can reserve your slot in advance for $25 through our Plan Your Visit page. That covers the assessment and the written plan. Treatment, if you go ahead, is quoted separately and every price is published on our price list.
We do not do free consultations, and we do not consult over chat. A skin problem needs to be seen.
Skin health, answered plainly
Do I need a dermatologist or an aesthetic clinic?
If your skin is uncomfortable, spreading, or changing, start with a doctor who can assess it. We treat acne, pigment, sun damage, sensitive skin, eczema and hair loss, and we remove moles, warts and skin tags. For psoriasis, chronic hives, nail disease, or a rash that is widespread or behaving oddly, you want a dermatologist, and we will say so.
How much is a skin consultation in BGC?
P1,500 at VMA, which includes the assessment and a written plan with prices on it. Booking from abroad, you can reserve a slot for $25 through Plan Your Visit. Treatments are quoted separately and all our prices are published.
Can you remove a mole in one visit?
Often, yes, if it is one of the straightforward ones. Dr. Erika Velasco looks at it herself before we talk about removing it. If a mole has changed shape, colour or size, or it bleeds, we will not laser it, because laser removal destroys the tissue and leaves nothing for a pathologist to examine. Those go to a dermatologist who can take it off properly and have it tested. We would rather send you elsewhere than be wrong about it.
How many sessions do warts need?
More than one, most of the time. Warts are viral, so the ones already forming under the surface appear after the first treatment. We plan for that from the start instead of surprising you with it later.
Can you treat my acne if I have tried everything?
Often, yes. Most acne that has not responded was treated as one problem when it was two, or was stopped too early. We look at what you actually took and for how long before suggesting anything new.
Will my melasma come back?
Probably, if the triggers stay. Sun, heat and hormones all drive it. Melasma is managed, not cured. What good treatment does is keep it faint and keep it stable, and that takes maintenance.
Do you offer online consultations?
No. Skin needs to be seen in person and in proper light. We would rather you came in once than guessed twice.
