Warts, moles and skin tags, taken off properly.
Small removals, done in clinic by a doctor. A physician looks at the lesion before anything is done, tells you what it is likely to take, and quotes the figure before you agree to it. Wart removal in BGC starts at P10,000 for the face and neck, and at P6,000 for plantar and genital warts. Moles and skin tags start at P6,000.
Small removals, done by a doctor
Warts, moles and skin tags are the everyday work of a skin clinic. They are quick, they are done under local anaesthetic in an ordinary appointment, and most people walk out and go back to work.
What makes the difference is who looks at the lesion first. A wart and a mole can look alike to the person who has it. So can a skin tag and something that is not a skin tag. At VMA a physician examines the lesion before anything is taken off, and decides whether it should be removed here at all.
That order matters more than the technique, and it is the part most price lists leave out.
Warts, moles, skin tags and keloids
Five common removals, each with its own honest caveat. The final figure is quoted at the consultation, once we have seen the size, the number and the site, because all three change the answer.
Wart removal
A routine procedure here, and the one we are asked about most. It normally takes more than one session, because warts are viral and the ones you cannot see yet come up later. We tell you that at the start, not after the first visit. If you have a crop of them rather than one, say so when you book, so we can set enough time aside.
Plantar and genital warts
Both are warts, so the same rules apply. They are viral, a course is normal rather than a single visit, and the figure comes after we have looked. Plantar warts sit on the sole and carry your weight all day, so they grow inward and are the stubbornest of the group. Genital warts are treated by a doctor, in a private room, and booked like any other appointment. We examine the area first and give you the price before anything starts. If it is not straightforward we say so and send you on.
Mole removal
Dr. Erika Velasco looks at every mole herself before anything is done, and decides which ones are safe to remove here. Some moles are plainly harmless and have looked the same for years. Those come off with the laser, usually in one visit. Anything that has changed, anything with an uneven edge or uneven colour, anything that bleeds or itches, we leave alone and send to a dermatologist. Laser removal destroys the tissue, so nothing is left to test afterwards. That is a fair trade on a mole we are sure about and a bad one on a mole we are not. The whole decision is written out in our guide to mole removal in BGC.
Skin tag removal
Small, soft and harmless. They sit where skin rubs skin, so the neck, the underarms and the eyelids are the usual places. Most are dealt with in the same visit as the consultation. They can return in the same area over the years, which is friction, not failure.
Keloid removal
A keloid is scar tissue that kept growing after the skin healed. It needs assessing before anything is planned, because keloids can come back, and treating one carelessly can leave you with a larger scar than you started with. Your doctor examines it and quotes the figure before any treatment begins.
Three steps, and no surprises at the desk
Every minor procedure at VMA runs in the same order. Nothing is removed on the day you book it sight unseen.
The doctor examines it
You come in for a skin consultation, P1,500, and a physician looks at the lesion. This is where we work out what it is, whether it should come off here, and whether anything else on your skin needs attention while you are in the chair.
You get the figure, then you decide
Size, number and site set the price, so the exact figure comes after the examination and before any treatment. If you go ahead on the same day, the P1,500 consultation is waived. If you would rather think about it, you leave with the plan and the price and decide at home. We do not sell packages in the consult room.
Removal and follow-up
Most removals are done in the same appointment. You go home with instructions for keeping the area clean while it heals, and we tell you when to come back. Warts almost always need a return visit; that is the nature of the virus, not a sign the first one failed.
What we will not promise
We will not promise one session for warts. Warts are caused by a virus that is already in the skin around the one you can see, so a course is normal and a single visit is the exception.
We will not promise no mark. Anything removed from skin leaves the skin changed, and how visible that is depends on your skin, the site and the size. We tell you what to expect for your particular lesion before you agree to it.
And we will not remove a mole we are unsure about. Those go to a dermatologist who can take it off properly and have it tested. Our skin health consultation page sets out exactly what we treat in clinic and what we send elsewhere.
What removal in BGC costs
A skin consultation with a physician is P1,500, and it is waived if you have a procedure on the same day. Wart removal on the face and neck starts at P10,000. Plantar and genital warts start at P6,000. Mole removal, skin tag removal and keloid removal each start at P6,000. Keloids are quoted after assessment.
Those are starting figures, not the whole answer, because a single small skin tag and a crop of twenty warts are not the same job. Your doctor confirms the figure after examining you and before anything is done. Every price we charge is on the published price list. Booking from abroad, you can reserve a slot in advance for $25 through our Plan Your Visit page.
Answered plainly
How much is wart removal in BGC?
Wart removal on the face and neck starts at P10,000 at VMA, and the consultation that comes first is P1,500, waived if you have the procedure on the same day. The final figure depends on how many warts there are and where they sit, so your doctor confirms it after examining you. All prices are published on our price list.
How many sessions does wart removal take?
Usually more than one. Warts are viral, and the virus is already in the skin around the wart you can see, so new ones surface after the first treatment. That is expected. We tell you at the first visit rather than after, and we plan the return visits with you.
Can a mole be removed in one visit?
Often yes, if it is a mole we are sure about. Dr. Erika Velasco looks at every mole herself first and decides which ones are safe to remove here. Harmless moles that have looked the same for years usually come off with the laser in a single appointment.
Which moles will you not remove?
Anything that has changed, anything with an uneven edge or uneven colour, and anything that bleeds or itches. Laser removal destroys the tissue, so nothing is left to test afterwards. On a mole we are not sure about that is a bad trade, so those go to a dermatologist who can remove it in a way that allows testing.
Does removal leave a scar?
Anything taken off skin leaves the skin changed, and how visible it is depends on the site, the size and your own skin. Small skin tags usually heal to almost nothing. Larger removals leave more. We tell you what to expect for your lesion before you agree to it, rather than promising an invisible result.
Do I need a consultation before a removal?
Yes. A physician examines the lesion before anything is taken off, which is how we decide whether it should be removed here at all and what it will cost. The consultation is P1,500 and it is waived if you go ahead with the procedure on the same day.
Do you remove plantar warts?
Yes. Plantar warts are the ones on the sole of the foot, and they start at P6,000 here. They take your body weight all day, so they grow inward rather than outward and are the most stubborn warts we treat. Expect a course rather than one visit. A doctor looks at the foot first and gives you the figure before anything starts.
Do you treat genital warts?
Yes. Treatment starts at P6,000 and is done by a doctor in a private room, booked like any other appointment. Warts are viral wherever they sit, so more than one session is normal. We examine the area first, quote the figure before anything starts, and tell you plainly if it is something we should send on instead.
